Founded in 1866, Granbury has been the home to some of the most storied individuals and landmarks in Texas.
When Patrick and Crystal Dvorak moved their family here in 2019 from a bustling suburb of Denver, Colorado, one of the main qualities that led them to put down roots in Granbury was its obvious sense of history and community.
Only months after their move, the pandemic of 2020 hit, radically changing the landscape of the corporate office work norm, sending so many men and women home to attempt to work from kitchen tables or coffee shop chairs. The Dvoraks watched as countless friends and neighbors began to struggle with practical problems like lack of space and necessary technology, as well as what for many was an even greater problem: isolation and missed community. As a nearly ten-year veteran of a work-from-home career himself, Patrick was very familiar with these struggles and realized the challenges in their new town were further compounded by the fact that Granbury did not have proximity to any sufficient co-working spaces so readily available in urban areas.
The Dvoraks saw a burgeoning need in their new community, and an idea began to emerge. They envisioned a space with cutting-edge technology, all the amenities one would expect from a major city co-working space, but with distinct small-town community and values. A place that would be an ideal blend of work-from-home flexibility but with modern office technology. A space for creatives to collaborate. A venue for small businesses to hold client meetings in a professional environment. Ultimately, a place where relationships would be cultivated and community would grow.
When the perfect location was found, Patrick and Crystal knew their dream could be realized.
Located right off of the historic Granbury Square, The Workplace is the ideal small-town co-working space. There are three types of desk options, all including must-have amenities: lightning fast gigabit wifi, 4k security system, high tech meeting rooms with video conferencing, kitchen space, and most importantly: gourmet coffee on demand. Much lauded Coworker Happy Hours feature beer from local brewers as well as drinks from Hood County’s own distilleries.
The Workplace strives to be so much more than a co-working space. The Dvorak’s vision is to see community forums, business opportunities, educational workshops, evening neighborhood events, and so much more come to life. The power of Granbury is found in its people and their commitment to honoring the city’s tradition of excellence, and The Workplace is proud to join in standing among that heritage.
